Theme For The Year 2004: FELLOWSHIP
Key Verse For the Year : "But if we walk in the light ... we
have fellowship with one another" (I John1:7)
Strengthen the Feeble Hands and Hearts
The ministry of a church is accomplished by all
the members of that congregation. Each and every member of a congregation, irrespective of
age, ability, and availability, are responsible and part of this ministry. There are many
possibilities for congregational ministry, but I would like to mention just one, for our
reflection and participation.
Prophet Isaiah exhorted the Israelites to:
Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way;
Say to those with fearful hearts: "Be strong, do not fear;"
Your God will come; he will come with vengeance;
With divine retribution he will come to save you. Isa 35:3
Let this be an exhortation to us, to do the
ministry of strengthening those with feeble hands and hearts. The foundation of our
strength is God, not our expectations and conclusions. Let us try doing this wonderful
ministry of strengthening others, through our kind words of support and encouragement,
through our loving actions activities, through our prayers and visits, and through
touching their hands and hearts with our compassionate hands and hearts. We can easily
dishearten and emotionally kill others. We can also invest our time and talents for
building up His Kingdom through what God has entrusted us, by giving life to all those who
are feeble and fainted. God has promised abundant life to all, we need to be his channels
only. Let Gods love and life flow everywhere through us.
Daily Prayer: Lord, make me a blessing to someone today. |
