"Create in me a clean heart, O God" (Ps.51:10)
We have come closer of another month with various events
such as Episcopal Visit, Parish Day, Alabama VBS, Parish VBS, Music Night
etc. We have organized many programs related to these events.
Almighty god has abundantly blessed us; our parish,
our families and our community. When we look back, we have to remember
with a thankful heart, the ways that God guided us and blessed us. It is a
high time to evaluate where we stand.
From a small beginning we have grown to the level of a
full-fledged parish in 1993. We were also blessed with a sanctuary in July
2001 and a Parsonage in July 2004. We are growing in terms of
spirituality, mission, activities and finance. During the Parish Day, we
have to remember all those who have worked hard for the formation and
growth of our parish. Here we have to examine, how do we effectively
participate in the programs and needs of our parish.
King David was destined to rule the country, but was
broken within him. He thought that people in his country were wrong and
evil, but God helped him to understand that the evil comes from his
inside. This led to his confession and transformation, as we read in
Ps.51.The cleansing has to begin within us in order to begin it outside.
Our family, our church our society and our world, all need enormous
change, but it has to start within us. As we celebrate the parish day, let
us pray like King David: "create in me a clean heart, O God" and
yield ourselves to changes.
"An unexamined life is not worth living"
(Socrates)

THE EXISTENCE OF GOD.
Hebrews 11:5-6
In the Bible nowhere attempts to prove or argue the existence of
God. "For he that cometh of God must believe that he is." The
existence of God is a fact taken granted by the writers of both Old and New
Testaments. "In the beginning God" (Gen. 1:1) The Bible opens by
announcing the sublime fact of God and His existence. There are arguments for
the existence of God; they are not conclusive, but are good food for the
thought.
1. The universal belief in God comes from within man. It is
innate in man, and comes from rational intuition.
2. The argument from "cause and effect". Everything
began owes its existence to a cause. We have a watch; for the watch must have a
watchmaker. We have a house; there must have a builder. We can see a creation;
then there must be a creator. This creation could not have come into existence
without an intelligent, personal Creator, or the alphabet could not produce a
book without an author.
3. The argument from anthropology. The man's moral and
intellectual nature argues for a moral and intellectual creator.
4. The Holy Bible and Jesus Christ that it reveals, His
virgin birth, His vicarious death and his bodily resurrection to Heaven - all of
this and much, much more argue for the existence of God and our eternal life in
Heaven
Next month: "THE PERSONALITY OF GOD."
