What is the prime aim of education? Train the
children in "the way they should go" should be the objective of
education. Currently "how to make a living" has become the
primary objective of education.
1) The prominence of seeking knowledge (Prov.3:
13-24)
The scripture lays importance on seeking wisdom in our
life to become true human beings. The Wisdom Literature underlines the
same fact. "It can't be brought with the gold of Ophir, with precious
onyx or Sapphires"(Job28: 16). In Ecclesiastes 2: 13, Solomon says,
"I saw the wisdom is better than folly, just as light is better than
darkness". Here Solomon clearly indicates that for removing darkness
pursuit of knowledge is very essential. In Prov.8: 11, Solomon points out
that knowledge is the true power, where as money has only false power. In
modern man's notion blessedness is attached to prosperity, power and
position. But in Solomon's thinking blessedness is the result of wisdom.
Honoring God is the way of wisdom (Prov2: 5)
2) Making education value based
Today children have many bad influences like wrong
friends, bad books, drugs, thriller movies, free access to internet ect.
Slowly they may drift them away from the primary objective of life. It is
said that the road from heaven to hell is a quick way. Here comes the
relevance of religious and moral education both in secular schools and
Sunday schools. Intellectual education influences the head and value based
education influences the heart. In fact, education that does not train the
heart can be dangerous. True education is training of both the head and
the heart. Education that builds the fundamental traits of character such
as honesty, compassion, courage, persistence and responsibility is
absolutely essential

THE NATURE OF GOD.
1 John 4: 8-9
(8) He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
(9) In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his
only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
There are four definitions of God in the Bible. Since God cannot be defined,
they are incomplete. However, they do throw light upon the nature of God
Almighty. They are:
1) "God is love". This is the nature of God in His divine
compassion.
2) "God is light" (1 John. 1:5) This is the nature of God in His
divine character; in Him there is no darkness.
3) "God is consuming fire" (Heb. 12:29) This is the nature of God in
His divine Holiness.
4) " God is a spirit". (John. 4:24.) This is the nature of God in His
divine essence.
The attributes of God reveal His nature. Do not think of His attributes as
abstract, but as vital mediums through which His holy nature is
unveiled-attributes as abstract, but as vital mediums through which His holy
nature is unveiled-attributes ascribed to Him, such as:
a) Life is ascribed to God ( John.
5:26)
b) All knowledge is ascribed God (
PS. 147: :5)
c) All power is ascribed to God (
Rev. 19: 6
d) Filling the universe with His
presence is ascribed to God (Ps. 1339: 7-10)
God is everywhere present, but He is not in everything. If God were in
everything, man could worship nay object and he would be worshiping God. God is
a spirit being, "And they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and
in truth".
