Dearly beloved in Christ,

LET US DO OUR BEST

"Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them" Romans 12:6

There is a story about Leonardo da Vinci. When he was a student, his aged teacher who was also a good painter, asked him to finish a painting that his teacher had begun. Young da Vinci stood in such awe of his master's skill that at first he respectfully declined. But his teacher would accept no excuse. He simply said "Do your best." Trembling, da Vinci took his brush and began. With each stroke, his hand grew more and more steady as the genius within him awoke. Soon he was so caught up in his work that he forgot his timidity. When the painting was finished, the master came to the studio to see the picture. Embracing his student, he exclaimed, "My son, I paint no more!"

Leonardo da Vinci had God given talents, but did not either realize it or use it. But when his master encouraged him and lovingly forced him, he began to paint and his talents were exposed. We cannot become da Vinci but we can discover the talent within ourselves. God has entrusted us with different gifts and talents which we are sometimes not aware of or not using properly. We need to do two things about this: become aware of the talents that God has given us and use them; and encourage others to identify and use their talents without timidity. Let us acknowledge our talents and encourage other's talents. All are God's gifts and all gifts are for the glory of God's name and the benefit of humanity, not for ourselves. There is an angel within us and let us become angels by becoming ourselves as God has designed us. TALENTS ARE GOD'S GIFTS. IDENTIFY THEM AND USE THEM AS PER GOD'S PLAN

In His service,

Behanan Achen

Letter to the Editor

I think that it would be a great idea to form a 'Support Group' consisting of few volunteer members of our church. The functions of this group would involve welcoming and assisting people who are newly relocated to Atlanta and surrounding areas who could also be potential new church members. In addition, this group can lend a helping hand to our current fellow members who might be going through difficult times, emotionally, financially and or for any other reasons.

Shanthini Kurian

A Prayer

In the silence of this moment, dear Lord, I wait upon you
In solitude I long to hide in your cleft, my rock
In stillness I hope to feel your movement in me
Pass me not without blessing and showers of grace

Help me to discern your leading now and always
Help me never to take my leading for yours
Be my friend, guide, and my master for ever
Bless me with humility to surrender my all

My heart's intentions, my Lord, you know
My longing for you is as clear as in daylight
Behold my desire to dwell in your presence
By your good pleasure accept my prayers and me
