Sunday School Announcements for January, 2012
 | Singing, Story Telling, Bible Reading and Elocution Competition will be
held on February 11th,2012, at the Church at 9.30 am. |
| Sunday School Calendar for the year 2012 can be purchased from Dr.Thomas
or any Sunday school Teachers for 5$. |
2012 Sunday School Competition Information
The complete information for all competitions to be conducted by Sunday
School is below.
NOTE: Although the dates are to be decided, the competitions will be conducted
in February and will be conducted on a Saturday.
Singing
When: February 11th,2012
For students: All students
Songs:
English
o When I survey the wondrous cross (Beginners to 3rd grade)
o Jesus the very thought of thee (4th grade to 7th grade)
o Guide me O thou great Jehovah (8th grade to 10th grade)
Malayalam
o Daivame sneha roopane - 211(196) (Beginners to 3rd grade)
o Paadi pukazhaththidaam Deva Devana 261(370) (4th grade to 7th grade)

Rules:
Sing only the first stanza with
chorus.If the song does not have a chorus two stanzas are allowed

Story Telling
When: February 11th,2012
For students: Nursery to 4th Grade only

Bible Reading
When: February 11th,2012
For students: 4th grade and up only.
Students will be in two groups
4th to
7th grade
8th to 10th
grade
Rules
Microphone will be provided
Reading portions will be assigned by drawing lots
Will be given the NIV Bible
4th to 7th grades
o Passage from only New Testament
8th to 10th grades
o Passage from Old and New Testament
Will be evaluated on clarity of reading
o Time to find the portion
o Clarity o Audience contact
o Voice power and projection
Elocution
When: February 11th,2012
For students: 5th Grade to 10th Grade
Topic: How can one be a True Christian? (For 5th grade to 7th grade)
Jesus the only way or one
of the ways to Heaven? (For grades 8th and above)
Rules:
NOTE:
o Absolutely no reading from papers/notes/cards allowed. This will be strongly
enforced with automatic deduction of 5 points.
o Topics will be announced the Sunday prior to the competition
o Cards or notes are not permitted.
