From the Desk of Rev. Samuel M. P.

Dearly beloved in Christ,

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (1 Cor. 1:18)
We are in the days of great lent. It is the me to meditate upon the way of life of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are reflecting upon the suffering and death of Christ in the Passion Week meditations. It tells about how cross, an instrument of death became the instrument of salvation. St. Paul, here, emphasizes that the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing and it is the power of God to those who are being saved. How do we understand the message of cross?
Cross gives us the message of divine love. In Christ, we see the kenotic love (self-giving love) of God. It is the love of God alone, nothing else in the world, that brought human and God together. With the death of Christ on the cross, it became a symbol of the sacrificial love and perfect giving. The cross also serves as the symbol of peace and reconciliation. It is the death of Christ on the cross that brought peace and reconciliation in the broken relationship.
This cross challenges us to live in relationship and to love each other. It proclaims the message of forgiveness. It may be foolishness in the sight of the world. But it is the nature of God that we experienced through the life and death of Jesus Christ. This message of the cross should influence us in our Christian living. May this lent observance and the Holy week services help us to understand the message of the cross and to express that message in our day to day life.
Our diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Isaac Mar Philoxenos Episcopa visited us on March 12, Sunday. It was a blessed occasion and I express our sincere thanks to Thirumeni. Our 13 children received the First Holy Communion and entered into the full communion of the church. I thank their parents, god parents, teachers and all others who helped them to grow in faith.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Mar Paulos Episcopa will visit the parish on the April 9, the Palm Sunday. I request the parcipation of all the members at that occasion. I also request the sincere parcipation of all the members in all activities of the church. I once again seek the parcipation of all members in the financial needs of the parish.
May God Almighty bless us and help us to lead a blessed parish life.
Wish you all a ‘Happy Easter”.

 With love and prayers,
Rev. M. P. Samuel
