|Dearly beloved in Christ,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Let the little children come to me, do not stop them, for it is to such as these that the Kingdom of God belongs…(Luke 18:16)
In the month of November, we celebrate the world Sunday School day. This celebration is the expression of the importance that we give to the children in our community. Children are the most precious gift of God. God always loves them and wants us to be like them to enter into the Kingdom of God. The incident that is described in Luke 18:15-17 tells the attitude of Jesus towards the children. There is no age barrier to experience God’s love. Church always acknowledges its responsibility towards the children and the Sunday School is the best example of it.
The motto of Mar Thoma Sunday School Samajam is “come to Jesus and bring every child to Jesus”. As parents, as Sunday School and as church, it is our responsibility to bring the children to Jesus so that they would have a right relationship with him from the beginning of their lives. All parents, therefore, should send their children to Sunday School classes regularly. Let us work together as a church to bring up our children in relationship with God.
The month of November is also important for the people who live in United States. Here we are celebrang the Thanksgiving Day on Nov. 24. It is an occasion to give thanks to the blessings of the Lord. Giving thanks always helps to recognize, appreciate and be grateful for the blessings in our life. Let us all come together in God’s presence with a thankful heart.
I thank all of you for your active parcipaon in the activities of the parish. I also expect your sincere participation in the future programs and financial needs of the church. As we are coming to the end of the year, make sure that your subscription and other contributions such as one day income and Suviseshanidhi are paid. I take this me to congratulate the Youth Fellowship for doing the Street Store at Safe House outreach. We are planning one more program in the month of November, on Nov. 26th. It is an attempt to address the needs of less fortunate people around us. I seek the parcipation of all the parish members so that it may be a blessing to all. Our Christmas house to house carol rounds will start on Nov. 25th, Friday. Let it be an occasion of joy and fellowship.
May God Almighty bless us and help us to be grateful to Him always
With love and prayers,
Rev. M. P. Samuel
